Echinacea (Coneflower)
Echinacea (Coneflower)
Echinacea purpurea cultivars
These rock stars of the prairies are undergoing a revival with lots of new cultivars appearing each year. The two I've selected are tried and true favorites and will be a great addition to a border garden.
Of course, they are wonderful as cut flowers (some varieties can be quite short but these are tall enough for bouquets and vase arrangements).
They are also a hit with pollinators and not only will the seed heads create visual interest and texture in the garden, but the birds will love them.
